Happy Birthday Mom
On the way to my Mom....
In my memories I recollect traveling the world with my birth parents and my twin sister. After what seemed like a never ending journey, at the tender age of four years old, my twin sister and myself found ourselves being adopted by two wonderful people by the name Helmut and Lotti Hildebrandt.
When we talk about our parents we always talk about our adoptive parents being raised and growing up in their home was a wonderful blessing that God provided gave us. They gave us an awesome life, and provided us with a great education. Most importantly they introduced us to The Lord, and gave me the opportunity to give my life to Christ Jesus. Being a smart young man I took The Lord up on His most gracious offer to save my soul.
Music was always important and my father taught me to play the flute when I was 5 years old, and I had to confess to my Dad, that I didn't like the sound of the flute. :-(
That same year my parents gave me a guitar as a Christmas gift. My Mom said it was this point her son started to want to be an artist and that was hell for her. She didn't want me to grow up be an artist and not have any stabilty in my life. Later in time she told me that our real parents were artists. My Mom was a dancer and my father a musician. My Mom was from America and my Dad from Germany. She didn't like the life of an artist.....so in an effort to be a good son I went through high school, graduated and learned to be a dentist. and worked for a insurance company. After my divorce, and hearing Dr King's speech, I got the revelation, the time had arrived to use my gift of music for peace.
My father died 22 years ago, and that was very hard for me, because he supported my love for singing and playing the guitar. In my eyes he was the best dad in the world and a wonderful man. I didn't share his love for garden work.... for me it was imprisoning.
My Mom is very proud of me now that I am an artist using my talent for peace. We are a small wonderfully close knit family. I remember my parents as being rich but always grounded. My father was always a good business man and advised me well.
Today on June 18th is my Moms 88th birthday and I'm honored and delighted that I have her and that we can celebrate it.
I thank my Mom for all that she did for me and I will always have her and my Dad deep in my heart.
In deep love and appreciation to my family.
Wolfgang
