Balance...
Did you ever find yourself going to bed with a whole week behind you where you had no real rest?
What is it that goes on life and within oneself that keeps the mind on a tread mill?
The last week was a successful one for me. There were some things that I thought were settled that I had to deal with. Then new issues surfaced.
Right here is when I felt like I was living the statement “the way of success is always under construction”. In each and every day there are new things we have to be prepared to deal with.
Using wisdom is essential if you are going to make the right decision.
What happens though when your mind is not rested, you haven’t read the bible or prayed?
Typically, you end up making emotion based decisions instead of using wisdom because your thinking is clouded.
In the bible you will find that our body is a temple for your soul and for The Holy Spirit if you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord. In order to function properly, we have to take care of ourselves.
There are some basic needs we all have like proper nutrition, exercise, time to rest, and sleep.
When the temple isn’t healthy, the paint is cracked and dry; maybe it’s been so long since you have smiled you forgot how good it feels…….maybe your roof is leaky and is letting the rain in.
Letting the rain in???? Yes, are you letting others rob you of your joy? If they say something you don’t agree with do you snap? Well, I think you are leaking.
It’s probably renovation time for your body and soul. Now we need to focus on good health.
How do you bring that spring back in to your step? Life style changes. It’s time to move forward one foot after the other and stop going one step forward and two steps back.
To usher in a new beginning start with exercise. Go for a walk around the block, once you can do that without being winded, you might be ready for two trips around the block. Then think about other forms of exercise that will bring strength and add stamina to your body.
Good food is so important. Instead of having that greasy bacon try turkey bacon and eggs for breakfast. There’s fruit mixed with yogurt to choose from too.
Another very important aspect to your wellbeing is rest. For example; a tree that is ill doesn’t produce good fruit. A tree that is in good health produces wonderful tasty fruit. Right….?
You are fearfully and wonderfully made, a masterpiece. There is only one you. What you do with your body is important for you, your family, spouse, and people you work with. What about your brothers and sisters in The Lord. If you are crabbed out because of burn out, you won’t be effective in ministry.
So much depends on your willingness to take the wonder woman bracelets off and enjoy life for a while at night and on the weekends doing positive constructive life building things.
I know this is the age of cell phones, I pads, gadgets and every way to communicate, that’s great thing all in the proper perspective. Do you suppose it’s really necessary to be available 24 hours.
If you are being honest with yourself at all, then take a little step forward. At night, read something that inspires you for a while or go to church, and let your calls go to voice mail. Call people back in the morning!
All of us need time to breath, and detox from the stress of the week in order to be fresh to what lays ahead of us. Here’s another thought……over the weekend spend time with family, and or friends.
Be with people that are positive and nourish your soul. Lastly, forgive others and yourself. Let go of past failures and mistakes. Those things do not identify who you are, what you are capable of. They certainly do not dictate your destiny….only if you allow them to. Love, no matter what has happened in the past, love and let yourself be loved.
